A particular registration is not necessary. In order to log in, just use you student ID (format: first name_surname). Stud.IP automatically generates an account when you first log in. Where do I get my ID from?
With your enrollment you get a student ID and an email address with the domain @stud.uni-goettingen.de If you have not picked up your access data yet, you can pick them up at the chip card issuing point (Chipkartenstelle) in the ZHG. For more information about your student ID click here. Please notice that Stud.IP does not use your matriculation number, but only your ID, which normally consists of name.surname and is used in your student mail address before the @-symbol.
Who can use the student ID?
This only applies to matriculated students at the Georg August University. If you still would like to use your student ID after being taken off the university register, please contact Stud.IT in advance.
Important information for students who were matriculated to the Georg August University before 2009:
The student ID is distributed along with the chip card. If you do not have this account yet, you have to pick it up at the chip card issuing point (Chipkartenstelle) in the ZHG. Log in with your old Stud.IP account and type in your Student ID at “use student ID for Stud.IP”. Afterwards you will be able to log in to Stud.IP with your student ID.
What happens, if I still have an old Stud.IP-Account?
Students’ Stud.IP accounts that are not based on a student user ID are so called guest accounts and only have access to “free access courses”, which do not require a student ID. Do not log in with your student ID before you transferred your old account to a new one. To transfer your account you have to follow this instruction: Log in with your old Stud.IP account and type in your Student ID at “use student ID for Stud.IP”. Afterwards you will be able to log in to Stud.IP with your student ID.
Is it possible to be both a student and a lecturer in Stud.IP?
Students with a student ID can only have an account with author or tutor status, which guarantees, that they are able to sign in into courses. To get further authorizations, which you need as a lecturer, you need another account.
