Comment/Description

General introduction to the patch clamp technique with emphasis on whole cell recording of potassium voltage-gated ion channels and single channel recording on excised membrane patches. On day 1 there will be a theoretical introduction in the morning and experimental work in the afternoon. Day 2 will be fully practical, and each student should have recorded her/his own data by the end of the day. On day 3 the data will be analyzed. The students will have enough hands-on time to get an impression on the technique and will learn to extract kinetic information by analyzing current traces and single channel events.

Location: MPI for Multidisciplinary Sciences, City Campus. Labs C203/C207
