Learning outcome, core skills:
Researchers in wildlife sciences are often faced with rapidly developing topics, for example because of natural catastrophes (e.g., draughts, fires), changing regulations (e.g., hunting laws) or emerging diseases (e.g., African Swine Fever). This makes wildlife sciences highly dynamic, and also poses a challenge to researchers because
they often have to gain an overview of novel research themes very quickly. The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of chosen current topics in wildlife research, conservation and management. The exact topic(s) covered duringthe course will be announced at the beginning of semester, and will be reviewed via scientific publications, textbooks and presentations.
