Learning outcome / core skills: (total module)
Understanding of the importance of intraspecific (genetic) variation for ecosystem
processes and functions, in particular

* knowledge of modern methods to assess genetic diversity in diverse groups of organisms
* understanding of the role of the evolutionary factors to shape genetic diversity with emphasis on selection
* understanding of evolutionary processes including adaptation under natural conditions and in managed ecosystems
* understanding of the impact of global change on genetic resources
