Sonstiges: Interaction of energetic ions with matter has many applications for modification and characterization of materials, ranging from semiconductor technology, coating technology, trace element analysis, archeology, micro and nano structure fabrication, life science and radiation safety. The lecture covers the physics of ion solid interactions, energy loss mechanisms, scattering processes, ion beam erosion, ion implantation, accelerator technology, ion source concepts, detector physics various ion beam analysis methods, ion induced X-ray generation, self-organized surface pattern formation, ion track formation and thermal spikes , ion microscopy, nuclear reaction analysis, secondary ion mass spectrometry, focused ion beam technology. Software for simulation of ion ranges, ion sputtering, damage production and ion assisted deposition and software for Rutherford backscattering and PIXE ion beam analysis is introduced.
