Sonstiges: This seminar aims at both, teaching the reading and discussion of recent research articles, and at getting up to date in the field of cell mechanics and biophysics of complex systems.

Every week, two papers will be presented.
1)One is the presentationof apredefined paper in an in-depth way. It is expected that the presentation takes about 30-45 minutes, and that not only the paper, but also the background required to understand the manuscript is presented. After the presentation we will spend about 15 Minutes of the seminar time to discuss the paper within the seminar participants.
2)In the final time, we will have a second short paper presentation. Here the aim is to learn how to present a research paper in a well defined timeframe of 10 minutes. The participant presenting is free to chose a paper, however the paper shall treat a subject in the direction of biophysics of cells or cell mechanics.

One aim is to train the presentation of a complex and demanding modern research subject.
Theaim of the discussion is to train the participants in the critical crosscheck of research article, with the goal that after the seminar, everybody is able to perform a real world peer review.
To obtain the credit, students need to 1) actively participate in the course. 2) Presentation of at least one of the in depth papers, and at least one short paper. Students onthe master level need to present a paper, and perform a real-world review of this paperduring the summer break. Reviews will be assessed, and if the student agrees they can even bepublished on a open peer review site.
