Voraussetzungen: This course gives an introduction into the foundations of the theories used in Solid State Physics (as opposed to an overview of phenomena in a more experiment-based introduction). This course covers the separation of electronic and nuclear motion, the description of electrons and phonons and their band structure in real materials, the description of transport and scattering of quasi-particles. Random keywords are Born-Oppenheimer approximation, non-adiabatic effects, conical intersections, Slater determinants, Bloch theorem, band structure, Density of States, Fermi distribution, Magnetism, Boltzmann equation, quasi-Fermi level, kinetic equations.
The course follows the lecture notes "PhiSX: Introduction to Solid State Theory" by the P. Blöchl downloadable at [http://phisx.org][1]as<< https://phisx.org/lib/download/sst1.pdf >>. Because I try to improve the lecture notes during a lecture, it is not recommended to print the entire document ahead of time.
Lecture: Quantum Mechanics.
Further necessary basics will be elaborated in the lecture.
