Recommended previous knowledge: Successful completion of the course Introduction to Biophysics; Bachelor studies in physics or a related field (is useful, but not necessary) Dieser Kurs richtet sich ausschließlich an Physikstudierende (Mono, Lehramt 2 FB Physik, Master). Studierende anderer Fakultäten und Studiengänge können leider im Losverfahren nicht berücksichtigt werden. Der Kurs ist auf drei Personen begrenzt; eine Anmeldung über FlexNow ist nicht möglich. Die Anmeldung erfolgt über StudIP und die Plätze werden über Losverfahren vergeben. Die Prüfungsanmeldung erfolgt nach Verteilung der Plätze über Frau Dr.. Rölleke an das Prüfungsamt. Learning outcome, core skills: Learning outcome The aim of this course is for students to gain a profound theoretical and practical knowledge in the cell biology methods that are used in cell biophysics. Topics covered are: • Working in a sterile environment • E. coli transformation for DNA amplification, purification and sequence analysis, • Mammalian cell passaging and transfection • Cell fixation and antibody staining • Imaging by epifluorescence microscopy • Image processing. core skills After successfully completing this course, students will be able to • plan and perform cell biology experiments • understand and interpret microscopy images of cells |
