From 11:00 to 12:00 the setup for the video conference with DESY will take place. Credits can be earned for main topics: Biophysics / Complex Systems, Solid State / Material Physics. |
Learning organisation | The goal of this course is a tight integration of teaching in the fields of X-ray physics with research at major research institutions, especially the Photon Science department at DESY (German electron synchrotron, Hamburg). |
Miscellanea |
\(1) Lecture: Introduction into research with synchrotron radiation and radiation at Free Electron Lasers: generation of radiation and source characteristics, fundamentals of accelerator physics, photon science experiments \(beamlines), fundamentals of X-ray scattering and diffraction, X-ray spectroscopy, ultra short pulses. \(2) Study trip to DESY Campus, Hamburg: Introduction into applications of X-ray methods \(changing emphasis), including introduction into coherent imaging, mathematical modelling, applications for biophysics, molecular physics, crystallography, ultra short pulses, etc. First appointment: organisational remarks, especially concerning the study trip to DESY.
