* have gotten to know research trends and established approaches in the field
* have trained their ability to work independently in a pre-defined context
* know how to methodically gather, organize, read, critically analyze, and discuss scientific research papers
* have improved their academic writing skills
* have improved their oral presentation skills

Examination:

Oral presentation (approx. 20 min) and either:

1. a term paper (approx. 5000 words)
2. successful completion of a complex programming project (incl. providing a developer documentation)

Examination requirements:

Knowledge of a current topic in Data Science; ability to present the acquired knowledge or the self-devised solution to an applied Data Science problem both orally and in writing
