Miscellanea How does EU policymaking work in practice? How much power do interest groups have to influence this process? The institutional processes in the EU are complex, but the same applies for lobbying and interest representation: One-sided condemnations of lobbyism in policymaking oversee the multifaceted, often indispensable impact interest groups have in politics. This online simulation game gives the seminar participants the opportunity to experience the legislative process in the EU in the role of European politicians as well as lobbyists. During the game, several demanding multi- and single-player tasks must be tackled in self-organization: Besides their legislative work in the policy field, the participants have to try their best to impose their own policy agenda. The practical experiences made during the simulation serve as a rich foundation for the studying of EU institutions and theory, especially for questions concerning interest representation.
