Comment/Description

Trainer:
The workshop is given by Philippa Cook, Berlin.

Location:
The workshop location will be announced to registered participants in due time.

Workshop description:
For doctoral researchers with an international background, it can be a real challenge to get into the non-academic German job market at the end of an academic position. The entry routes into jobs are not always transparent, candidates are often not well-informed about what to expect in the application process and not everyone can offer German language skills. Where and how you can look for a job outside classic academia depends on your qualifications and skills set, on your individual life situation as well as on knowing about possible entry paths, the (unwritten) rules of the game and other additional parameters. This workshop offers assistance with this and will encourage participants not just to prepare for this transition in a focused way but to create an action plan which they can implement.

Admission settings

The course is part of admission "GAUSS_GGNB_Skills_SoSe_2025_Jul_Sep".
You can register for courses in September 2025 from 1-20 July 2025. The slots will be assigned on 25 July 2025.
You can still sign out until 31 July 2025.
Your participation becomes binding on 1 August 2025. If you do not provide this, you will be excluded from courses for the next 12 months, as well as travel grants and other financial support. No exceptions.
By signing up you agree (1) to carefully check whether you will be able to attend the course (do not register for 2 courses taking place on the same dates - the above mentioned sanctions apply!), (2) to frequently check your student e-mail account, as all information on courses will exclusively be sent to that account; (3) that your name and e-mail address may be forwarded to the course instructor(s) for communication before and after the course; (4) to complete the course evaluation; (5) inform us if you no longer wish to maintain a waiting list position; (6) that you only receive credits for attending the entire workshop - you will not get partial credits for part-time attendance.
