Comment/Description

NOTE: attendance of a seminar on Good Scientific Practice is mandatory for all GGNB (and also GAUSS) doctoral students!

Trainer:
The workshop is given by Prof. Dr. Sarah Köster.

Location:
The workshop will take place at the seminar rooms [SR1 and SR2 in the faculty of Physics, Friedrich-Hund-Platz 1][1].

Workshop description:

In this course the rules of good scientific practice that all scientists, including PhD students, are to adhere to are discussed. Every GAUSS PhD student is required to attend one such course during their studies. This version is focussed on physics, but students from other disciplines may attend it also. The course load is 1 ECTS for active participation (on both days!)

Testimonials by former participants:
* Excellent course that conveys the both the ideas and the importance of good scientific practice in a surprisingly engaging way. Highly recommend!
* Overall, a very informative and appropriate workshop for new Ph.D. students.
* The workshop was way more interesting, interactive and comprehensive than expected. It was not just reading and remembering rules of good scientific practice but more about understanding why the rules exist and how complex the topic can get.
